La Mona Trio was founded in 2006. The trio has performed in numerous concerts in Europe. Both
the general public and the critics have shown enthusiasm, not only for the virtuosity of the
musicians, but also for the homogeneity of the ensemble. The trio’s work in 2010 will be marked by
a CD release as well as a tour in Brazil.
Janos Ecseghy was born in Ludwigshafen, Germany. He made his debut at
the age of 12, touring through Germany and Spain, as soloist in an
orchestra. He has studied with Wolfgang Marschner and Nicolas
Chumachenco in Freiburg, and with Hermann Krebbers in Amsterdam. He
received his first position in the Semper Opera House of Dresden in 1998.
He became the Concertmaster of the Badische Staatskapelle in Karlsruhe in
2002. Janos is actively involved as the chamber musician in several
ensembles besides La Mona Trio. He founded the Weinbrenner Ensemble in
2010. His last appearance in Dubai was in 2002, as the Concertmaster of the
Baden Baden Philharmonic, with Placido Domingo as the soloist.
Moema Rodrigues was born in Geneva, Switzerland. She studied in
Dominique Weber’s class at the Geneva Conservatory, and with Ivan Klansky
at the Lucerne School of Music, where she obtained her Master in Concert
Diploma. Moema has won many prizes at musical competitions for young
musicians in Switzerland and in Europe. She played in the well-known
“Tonhalle” of Zurich on the famous piano of Horowitz. Moema perfected her
skills with David Louïe (Glenn Gould Professional School, Toronto), Fausto
Zadra (Academie Ciem Mozart) and with P. Badura Skoda. Moema has been
in many solo performances and concerts with La Mona Trio.
Ana Helena Surgik was born in Curitiba, Brazil. She studied with
Antonio Lauro del Claro (University of Campinas, Sao Paulo), Ivan
Monighetti (Music Academy of Basel), Walter Levin, Hatto Beyerle,
and with Marek Jerie (Music School of Lucerne). Ana Helena has
won many prizes in various musical competitions and was a soloist in
the Orchestra of Brazil. She has played with the Basel Sinfonietta,
Zurich Consortium Musicum, Grisons Chamber Philharmonic, and
with the Salzburg Chamber Soloists. Ana Helena has been in many
performances with La Mona Trio.
