The Mozart Concertino Salzburg developed from the chamber orchestra "Österreichische Kammermusiker" which was founded in spring 1985 by the principals of the "Jeunesse Orchestra and advanced in a very short time from an insider tip to an internationally renowned group. The ensemble, whose reputation grew from their highly successful debut at the "Schleswig-Hollstein Music Festival" in 1988, boasts continuous artistic collaboration with Heinrich Schiff, Ulf Hoelscher, Lothar Koch (Berliner Philharmoniker), Gerhard Schulz (Alban Berg Quartett), Alois Brandhofer (Berliner Philharmoniker), Clemens Hagen (Hagen Quartett), Julius Berger, Thomas Riebl and many others. The repertoire for their international concert career stretches from the conventional to the lesser known treasures as well as far-reaching and unconventional new projects. The critics praise their "instrumental perfection", "high level of intensity" and "sensitive interpretation".
